The exhibition at the Musée Pincé presents a selection of antique and non-European works and objects from this donation, in keeping with the museum's identity and, in particular, the history of collections and collecting.
The most important sets - Greek ceramics and Roman glassware - are highlighted, and the objects are presented in such a way as to bring out the aspects of these ancient societies that the collector appreciated.
In order to offer the widest possible overview of this donation, the exhibition is also on display in the Musée des Beaux-Arts, in the graphic arts cabinet, with a section devoted to Gallo-Roman archaeology, Anjou iconography and art and history objects from Anjou.
These two exhibition spaces highlight the very history of the Léveilley collection by evoking the prestigious earlier collections from which some of the objects came, first and foremost the collection of Anjou industrialist Julien Bessonneau.
