La Loire à Vélo - Loire Valley

The Loire, Europe’s last unspoilt river. A huge tourist cycle route of 900 km including 34 km in the Angers agglomeration between Loire-Authion and Savennières.

From Béhuard to Bouchemaine and on to La Daguenière, you’ll be cycling along the banks of the River Loire, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. On the way, you’ll see Sainte-Gemmes-sur-Loire and its horticultural centre, then Les Ponts-de-Cé, an old port that is proud of its title of “Daughter of the Loire”, before reaching the charming village of La Daguenière on the banks of the river.

Don’t miss:
- Sainte-Gemmes-sur-Loire: nicknamed the “Flower of the Loire” because there are few places in Anjou with so many greenhouses, nurseries and vegetable gardens. Visit the Vicarage Garden (Jardin du Presbytère), a succession of flower-decked terraces with a breathtaking view of the Loire.
- Île aux Chevaux: one of the largest islands in the Loire in the “county” of Maine-et-Loire.
- Les Ponts-de-Cé: visit the castle keep built in the 15th century by King René, now home to the headwear and traditions museum.
- Immerse yourself in the heart of the Loire at the Loire Odyssée Interpretation Centre in Saint-Mathurin-sur-Loire.

1/ I'm travelling by bike in Pays de la Loire region
2/ I book bike transport via the Colisport platform
3/ I drop my bike off at a drop-off point
4/ I collect it at the location I want: either from another partner shop to continue my journey, or directly from my home.
