Jardin du Mail

in Angers
  • These gardens came into being around the 17th century, born of the "jeu du mail", a now obsolete French lawn game. The fountain, by Barbezat, and the large pond (1855) make up the central axis where the geometrically-arranged paths converge. The paths flanked by greenery, the flower beds and the exceptional floral displays in summer are worth a visit.

  • Facing the Town Hall, it owes its name to the old game of Mail which dates back to the early 17th century. Make the trip to see the exceptional Summer flowers.
